After an 8 month break in which I haven't had a life ... I'm back with news of the Louis Vuitton A/W show at Paris Fashion Week.
The opening had me captured and I didn't blink for 15 minutes.
Included in the show; 4 hotel doormen, 67 models, french maids, feathers and none other than Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell
Four lifts were placed in the middles of the show space, which happened to be a black tent in the middle of the Louvre Museum's courtyard. The no expense spared show started with the doormen emerging up from the stairs, they took their palces at the side of each lift and the show began. The vintage style lifts had been inspired by those at Clridges, London.
The first model came up in the lift and emerged in a black, sheer midi skirt, the next life opened to reveal a pair of hip exaggerating, high waisted sheer trousers. The next lift and so on and so on. I was in awe, their was not a single look I did not love.
Feathers, fur, sheer blouses, pvc heeled wellington's, bow detail maryjanes, corset belts, sequins, knickerbockers, flared skirts, shorts and a continous flow of fabulous handbags.
Based on the childre's book series 'Madeline' the collection was flawless and coherent. Nothing less than you would expect from Marc Jacobs
Kate Moss closed the show in a pair of black hot pants and a rubber lacde jacket with shaggy sleeves. The highlight watching her close the show while ignoring the law and dramitcally smoking.
